임페리얼 제브라 - 일명: 임제

임페리얼 제브라...

지난 수년간 이름 그대로 플레코의 황제라 불리웠던 녀석입니다.

그 무늬때문인지 몰라도..아님 명성때문인지 몰라도...

어쨋든 지인 댁에서 실제로 본 녀석도 사진처럼 정말 귀엽고 예쁘답니다.

Hypancistrus zebra, gets its name from its black and white stripes, resembling the colouration of a zebra.

It is a species of catfish commonly found in the Xingu River,

a tributary of the Amazon River, and was first described in the early 1990s.

 

This fish was exported from Brazil in great numbers.

Despite this, the zebra pleco is not found on the IUCN red list.

However, the Brazilian government responded by putting a ban on the exportation of the zebra pleco.

Since this ban has been enforced, there has been a trend towards the captive breeding of this exotic

and expensive catfish due to its popularity.

 

Mature males have a larger head and longer interopercular spines than females.

After spawning, the males will guard the eggs.

The fry swim after seven days and absorb the yolk sac in two weeks.

위에 설명된것처럼..

임페리얼 제브라가 처음 소개된것은 불과 90년대 초입니다.

그때만해도 엄청나게 많은 개체가 잡혔고 또 수출되었다고 하더군요

하지만 그후 브라질 정부가 임제 수출을 금지하면서 지금에처럼 귀한 대접을 받게된거죠. 

 

때문에..레어 아이템으로 인정되어 마리당 5~60만원 이상을 받던 녀석들 이었습니다만,

축양이 가능해지면서 요즘엔 가격이 많이 내렸다고 하더군요.

10여만원선까지 가격을 본 기억이 나는데...지금은 어떤지 모르겠습니다. (^^ㆀ)

그래도 여전히 비싼건 사실입니다. 쩝.

 

 

 

 

 

...안시들을 키우고 득치해보신분들은 아시겠지만,

고급이고 희귀종이라서 키우는 난이도가 엄청 어려운것도 아니랍니다.

안시와 습성자체도 그리 다르지 않구요. 성격도 엄청 순하고 착하답니다.
